Ficlet: Rats, Cats, and Owls

foolartistAN: This is just a silly, stupid, little blurb, mostly a rant that I had in my own head that sounded an awful lot like Hermione. Takes place sometime in third year.
"Your cat's a bloody menace!" yelled Ron.
"Stop blaming this on him! It's not his fault he's a cat. Besides it really is your own fault." Hermione replied.
"My fault, my fault! How is this my fault!"
"Ronald Weasley think! On you Hogwarts acceptance letter what did it say? I said, specifically, that you bring either a cat, an owl, or a toad. No where was a rat, mouse, or other rodent mentioned. Why? Because two of the three preferred pets eat them! It's all rather simple. It's why no one's said anything about you breaking the rules and bringing a rat. Obviously if you're that determined to endanger your pet by bringing him to a school with over a hundred cats and a hundred more owls, you won't be deterred by a teacher saying it's rather stupid of you."
Ron stood and starred for a moment, he'd never thought of that.
